Halloween/Dillan's First Hair cut

This year's Halloween season was so much fun! Even though i had to work on Halloween it was all good! I helped the husband decorate his cubicle for a decorating contest and he won!! I'm sad though that we didn't get pictures. We always have next year =] Anywho this year little Aiden was Peter Pan and Dillan a Pirate(who looked like Shmee by the way). I had wanted our whole family to match this year since i was sort of undecided on what the kids should be and Aiden doesn't really have a favorite anything we thought the cheap but cute costumes would do! I didn't dress up this year, i know sad, but next year our whole family is going to match...hopefully. We already bought Aiden's costume for next year and we got a smokin' deal 70% off at target...i suggest you go! Aiden's costume came with all of Peter Pan's swag...and i must say even though i am a fan of the color green it was absolutely too much green! So i told my mom to keep an eye out for some brown pants and lo and behold she found some!! Leave it to her to find anything! So it made my little Pan less green and more adorable! We also did all the Halloween traditions too, the pumpkin carving, pumpkin patch visiting, Disneyland and such. Here are some pics for your viewing pleasure.
We broke the rules for this picture but shhh don't tell anybody =]

***********************************
As we were trick or treating on Halloween night 4 people had called my little Dillan a girl and the husband had it. It was time to cut his precious locks(super sad face). I didn't like it one bit but i also promised Cody that he could cut his hair after Halloween. I never thought i would get so attached to his adorable hair. So here are the before and afters. I must admit i did tear up while it was getting cut...Cody did promise me that we wont need to cut his hair until his next birthday...and i am going to hold him to it!

He is still a cute little boy though. And i am still complaining about not liking his hair but well see how it grows on me.
Until next time =]

Quick Update

I have been gone from blog world for a little bit but i am gradually getting into a groove to where i will have some time for myself!!What!? Anyways here is what has been going on in our lives!! Cody and i have been working at the same place for almost 2 months now. I like it. Pay is better than what we had and i get to talk to people my age which helps me to keep my sanity. I only work 3 days a week which helps me keep my sanity as well...if that doesn't make sense then i think i may be loosing my sanity! So with all this working my children have of course been acting out a tad bit. Aiden more than Dillan, although he does love seeing Bama and Papa every now and then, he isn't used to me being gone all the time, which feels like alot lately. But thankfully we will be moving to a new building and hopefully be having no more overtime soon. Other than that my boys have been doing good. Aiden has been such a crack up lately. Thursday morning while Cody was getting ready for work(i have Tuesdays and Thursdays off) he decided it was time for Aiden's million questions hour. Here is how it went
Aiden:Are you going to take a shower?
Cody: Yes i am.
Aiden: Are you going to work?
Cody:Yes i am.
Aiden: Are you going to get an umbrella for my Christmas?
Cody: What?
I just couldn't lay there quiet anymore i was laughing. For some reason Aiden has a massive obsession with umbrellas. So lately he has been asking for one and he says it exactly how it is worded above. We went to payless today to get him a new pair of shoes and he of course spotted the buzz lightyear children's umbrella and refused to put it back. Since i am sick and he behaved pretty awesomely all day i decided it wasn't worth it to drag a screaming 3 year old out of payless and across the parking lot with just his shoes. He has had it open in our house all day long(I'm not one for superstitions) and even took a little nap on the floor under it, i must admit it was pretty cute.
Dillan's favorite song is patty cake, and he also brings some comic relief into our lives. I think he is the funniest kid alive sometimes. He also loves dancing...to any toy that makes music. He climbs on our coffee table, couches, chairs, anything taller than him you name it! He even surprised me yesterday and got up onto our bed(which is pretty tall by the way).
I have been doing pretty well. Eating right has led me to lose 3 pounds which i am so proud of myself! I would like to get to my pre Aiden weight but i know that most likely wont happen, but it would be nice to lose another 5!
We traded in our 2005 Toyota Corolla and bought a 2010 Hyundai Elantra. We were planning on buying 2 cars since i only work 3 days a week and Cody works 5 but that didn't happen. So we will wait patiently for our 2ND car and hopefully buying it will be easy since we know what we want.
We plan on going on our "honeymoon" next October. We plan to go to Hawaii but need to price things out first. Hopefully we can get a good deal. It would be nice to go on a week vacation with out our kids instead of just 1 night at a time.
So that has been pretty much our crazy life for the past 2 months. I promise to post pictures next time...hopefully soon!! I just found our camera battery charger and i plan on taking pictures of our family soon!! Until next time =]

Last Day of Freedom!

For me that is. I start my brand spanking new job tomorrow, for those of you that didn't know. We had been suffering a tad bit in the money department, but now me and Cody will be working, in the same place no less. I'm pretty darn excited about it but we shall see how things go. In other news my hair is getting longer, i started cloth diapering, Dillan is climbing on the furniture now, and Aiden has become a happy go lucky little boy that likes to say hi to strangers. Other than that nothing new! Here are some pictures of my cute kids!My children don't really cooperate when it comes to taking pictures together.

Fun fact for you! I have taken up Geocaching! If you don't know what the heck that is go look it up! I'm registered on www.geocaching.com with the user name of sorensonfam add us and join us on a journey!! I haven't found one yet but plan to this weekend!!

Aiden is 3!!

Going through Aiden's pictures really takes me back in time! I can remember when every one of these pictures were taken. It makes me sad to think my first child isn't a baby anymore but is growing into a little boy. Lets take a trip down memory lane =]

After i got my epidural. I was a happy camper =]

He was born just before 6 in the morning. 8 lbs 2 oz. This was after his first bath.

One of our first family pictures.

Cody stayed at the hospital the whole time with me. Staying up at night to feed our STARVING child...seriously he was up almost every hour.

Good friends stopped by to visit. You can see how long this little boy was!

And here he is, the birthday boy. He may be crazy at times but i love him with all my heart =]
My birthday was somewhere in between the boys. I will post on that later.
Until next time.

Infinity Scarf

Please don't ask me why i did this in the middle of summer. But at least you will be fall/winter ready!! You can make this scarf for free!! Seriously i love free stuff, so bust out your old Walmart shirts that you don't like after they were washed twice...or just don't like in general =]. All you will need for this project is a shirt and some shears! If you absolutely love every single shirt in your closet then find your closest DI or Goodwill and buy some 1 Dollar shirts!!

Both of these shirts are from Wally world and since the striped one is 3/4 sleeves and it is hot...well you get the idea.

You are going to want to cut 1 inch strips across the belly of your shirt. I got 14 out of mine. You are also going to need strips(for tying) for every one of your long strips...confusing i know but you will see below.

This is what your 1 inch strip across the belly will look like.

Make a figure 8...

and fold over. Do this twice.

2nd figure 8

Now you have rings that are folded to have 4 rings =]

This is where you will tie your rings together. Remember the extra strips i mentioned above? I used the sleeves of my shirt since they were smaller in size. DOUBLE KNOT THEM!! Don't tie them like i did in this picture...deceiving i know =] Tie all of your rings together so that it is an infinite ring of rings!!

And now you have yourself a cute scarf...hippie chic style!
Until next time =]

Fisher Kids Photoshoot

I took some adorable pictures of some adorable little people the other day. Other than trying really hard for both of them to smile at once, it went pretty smoothly. This was a fun photo shoot that consisted of weeds, stealing a chair, and popsicles! Go ahead and take a gander =]

These are just a few of my favorites. My friend had asked me after i did these if i was going to start doing it regularly. I think i may try it out for a little while seeing as this "awesome economy" isn't letting up. I will be building my portfolio so stay tuned for more cute photo shoots! Until next time! =]

Dillan is 1!!

I year ago to today i was in labor at Redlands Community Hospital. This pregnancy was a tiny bit tougher than my first with early braxton hicks that i had to get meds for and i was diagnosed with group b strep. But at 3:15 pm June 5th Dillan finally blessed us with his presence. He was over 1 lb smaller than my first(thank goodness!) and the meant no episiotomy (YAY!). His first year of life has flown by so quickly i wish it didn't. I remember every milestone that he hit like it was yesterday.
Dillan you have been such a joy in our family so far i cant wait to see what you bring next! You are the most funniest kid i have met and i just love you to pieces! Happy Birthday my Dilly Bean =]
From this tiny little newborn...

To this adorable little boy =]

Lame

So apparently i was on to something but not anymore. It has been invented...or something like it i should say. So with that said i will just invent it for myself seeing as i still need one. There will be more on this "item" as soon as i know what i am doing. Confusing i know but there will be some clarity on all of this hopefully sometime soon, but for now here are some pictures for your viewing pleasure =]
Dillan taking steps for mama. Its about darn time!!

My almost 3 year old at the park *tear*
I love happy, angry faces.

Dilly boy and his awesome hair...which will be a part of his Halloween costume as long as daddy doesn't take a pair of shears to his head!

Crystina and cute little Easton

And this cute picture which i think is frame worthy =] One child absolutely distraught(i think because Aiden had her toy) and 2 others with a deer in the head lights look. Not to mention my extra protected, non drown-able son.

Until next time =]

Lazy Days

My garsh i have been so lazy with this darn blog. Well i suppose i can update you on the happenings of our little family. First off my little baby boy is going to be 1 in 12 days!!! Holy cow! Aiden will be 3 in 36 days and that is just even crazier. My babies are growing up too fast!
Dillan has been taking a few steps here and there. He still prefers crawling. He says dada and when i try to get him to say mama he says dada. What a little stinker!
Aiden has been doing awesome, it amazes me at how much this kid can learn in so little time! He is fully potty trained and has been for about 2 months now. He has been to Disney with just chonies and no pull ups and he also went to an Angels game recently and no accidents!! WOO HOO!! I am so proud of my little man. Also a big woo hoo for having only 1 kid in diapers!! He also likes to run around our house singing jingle bells...of all songs i don't know why he chose a Christmas one that can get stuck in your head so easily.
We had a little mishap at one of our favorite places on earth. Yup you guessed it Disneyland! Our double stroller was stolen. Insert sad face here. I felt so horrible because 1) i had gotten it as a baby shower gift and a couple of my family members pitched in for it because it was a tad expensive, and 2) i just plain loved it. I never had anything stolen from me before so this was a first and i must say i hope i never feel that way again! It was a huge mix of emotions that i usually never have, lets just say that. My father in law came up with an awesome idea of theft proofing our stroller and i am in the works of inventing something(more on that tomorrow). So we of course had to dish out at least 200 bucks for a new one and our new one isn't half bad. It doesn't compare to the first but hey we got the best deal for our buck i think. I am happy with it, the only thing is i cant go running with it(pshh like i went running anyway) but when i did, which was like once a month, it was nice. I guess i will just have to leave my poor old husband with both of the kids while i go for a run.=]
I have been keeping myself busy lately by making little girl bows. On Easter we went over to my grandma's house. A tradition that i love ,which is the egg decorating contest, takes place there every year and the eggs come out looking like gogo dancers or circus folk. My grandma used to have her own craft store oh so long ago. So where does she keep all of her old craft supplies? In a room that is seriously walled with different sizes of labeled Tupperware bins. It is one of the most magical places i have ever seen!! Anything you would ever need to make something is in that room. So my grandma wanted to get rid of some of her stuff and asked me if i had wanted anything from in that room...HEYOO!! I told her that i would gladly take the gorgeous old ribbon she had off her hands...oh and maybe a box or 2 of buttons. So i have been making some of the most retro bows i have ever seen. Her ribbon is seriously from the 70's-80's eras and i absolutely LOVE it. I have a massive amount of buttons that i probably wont be able to use in this lifetime but a bow needs options! So if you want to take a gander at these beautiful lovelies i have my Facebook page linked in the right hand column at the top. =]

I plan to post pictures some time this week of the kiddos so keep an eye out.

Until next time!

CTR 4 Leader Right Here!

Yup i have finally gotten a calling that doesn't have to do with an 18 month old playing with toys! Not that i didn't like the nursery; i loved it! But this calling i actually get to learn with the kids! I will give you a little background about me first. I was baptized October 27Th 2007 and got married 2 days after. About 6 months after this i was about 5 months pregnant when they gave me and Cody a calling for the nursery. Seeing as Cody had absolutely ZERO experience with babies, we took it as an opportunity to gain knowledge of what we were both getting ourselves into. We had this calling until after Aiden was born and he was about a year old. Then it seemed like we were right back in there as soon as he turned 18 months. But the time in between was about 6 months and we were going to the gospel principles class. I had learned a lot in that class seeing as i didn't really learn anything in the nursery along with being a new convert. After Aiden has gradually become less of a clinger i was able to learn a bunch more.
Now me and my husband are both teachers for the CTR 4 class in our ward. Today was my very first day teaching and i have to admit i absolutely loved it. During high school i had always wanted to be a teacher. So this is a little taste of what i had always wanted to be. I have ofcourse changed my mind of who/what i wanted to be obviously, but i must say it is quite a blessing to be teaching these cute little 4 year olds in my class. It is a huge honor to be the ones that teach them what they need to learn about our church and what they should be doing to get back with heavenly father. Our lesson today was the Word of Wisdom. When i had first read what the lesson was i was at a loss for words thinking, "how the heck am i supposed to teach this subject to a bunch of 4 year olds?" But it was so awesome how the lesson turned out and i am so proud of the class. Even though many of them were hungry(church ended at 5 today) they stuck through it and i am so happy to have an amazing calling with an amazing class. I cant wait to teach more!

Changes

I have not posted for some time now and there have been MANY changes in the Sorenson home. Dillan is crawling like a crazy man, standing up, and walking along things. Aiden knows most of his ABC's and can count to 11...well he knows all the numbers to 11 and sometimes mixes them up =].
We have been getting rid of so many things that we don't need it is so refreshing! I feel like a massive weight has been lifted off of our shoulders by just getting rid of toys, clothes, and junk in general.
I have been so crafty lately it isn't even funny. I made some baby food jar candles recently and they turned out really cute! I also have a new project in the works that i haven't started yet but the image in my head is beautiful!
Here are some up to date pictures!Candles

Planted seeds/trees for spring =] That is a mandarin orange tree in the corner...and my son throwing a fit on the floor.

Dilly passed out in his jumper

My little guy 9 months old! WHEW!!

Helping with the laundry

We got to have an Aiden day at Disneyland =]

SNOW!! We made snow cones with snow and powerade

My 2 men in the snow. Dillan didn't like it too much and Aiden loved it!

We also had just gotten word that we will be getting our sweet Chloe back =] this came as a big surprise! We had such a hard time giving her away and now we get the chance to have her back. We will see how things go and if she is still the same.

Until next time!
